Music Assistant Integration

SendSpin Player integrates with Music Assistant to give you full access to your music library from your Android device.

When connected to a Music Assistant server, SendSpin Player becomes a full remote for your library:

  • Browse artists, albums, playlists, tracks, radio stations, audiobooks, and podcasts
  • Search across your entire library with full-text search
  • Queue management — Play Now, Play Next, Add to Queue
  • Playlist creation — Create new playlists and add tracks to existing ones
  • Favorites — Mark tracks as favorites from the Now Playing screen
  1. Add a new server using the Add Server wizard
  2. Select Music Assistant as the client type
  3. Enter your Music Assistant credentials when prompted
  4. The app connects to the Music Assistant API on port 8095 (configurable)

The home screen provides quick access to:

  • Recently Played
  • Recently Added
  • Albums, Artists, Playlists, and Radio sections

The library screen has tabs for each media type:

  • Albums — Cover art grid with album names and artists
  • Artists — Portrait images with artist names
  • Playlists — List with creation dates
  • Tracks — Sortable track listing
  • Radio — Internet radio stations
  • Audiobooks and Podcasts — When available in your library

  • Artist — Biography, discography
  • Playlist — Track listing with edit options

From any detail screen or search result, long-press or tap the menu on a track to:

  • Play Now — Clear the queue and start playing this item
  • Play Next — Insert after the currently playing track
  • Add to Queue — Append to the end of the queue

  • Create — Save the current queue as a new playlist, or create an empty playlist
  • Edit — Add or remove tracks from existing playlists
  • Delete — Remove playlists with confirmation dialog
