Common Issues
No Sound After Connecting
Section titled “No Sound After Connecting”Symptom: Connected to server but no audio plays.
Solutions:
- Check that the server is actively streaming audio (another client or the web UI should show playback)
- Verify device volume is up (both media volume and the in-app volume slider)
- Check that the notification permission was granted — the playback service needs it on Android 13+
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting to the server
App Stops Playing in Background
Section titled “App Stops Playing in Background”Symptom: Music stops when the screen turns off or you switch apps.
Solutions:
- Exempt SendSpin Player from battery optimization:
- Go to Android Settings > Apps > SendSpin Player > Battery > Unrestricted
- Enable High Power Mode in app settings for always-on devices
- On some manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei), check for additional battery management settings that kill background apps
Server Not Found
Section titled “Server Not Found”Symptom: No servers appear in the Nearby Servers list.
Solutions:
- Verify you’re on the same WiFi network as the server
- Check that the server is running and listening on port 8927
- Try adding the server manually with its IP address
- Some routers block mDNS/multicast between devices — try a manual connection
- Guest networks often isolate devices — use the main network
Notification Not Showing
Section titled “Notification Not Showing”Symptom: No playback notification appears.
Solutions:
- On Android 13+, grant notification permission:
- Android Settings > Apps > SendSpin Player > Notifications > Allow
- Check that notification channels aren’t blocked:
- Android Settings > Apps > SendSpin Player > Notifications > check all channels are enabled
High Battery Usage
Section titled “High Battery Usage”Symptom: SendSpin Player uses significant battery.
Solutions:
- Disable High Power Mode unless the device is plugged in
- Disable Keep Screen On when not needed
- Use Opus codec instead of FLAC to reduce network activity
- Check if Debug Logging is enabled — disable it when not troubleshooting
QR Code Scanner Not Working
Section titled “QR Code Scanner Not Working”Symptom: Can’t scan Remote ID QR code.
Solutions:
- Grant camera permission when prompted
- If previously denied, go to Android Settings > Apps > SendSpin Player > Permissions > Camera > Allow
- Alternatively, enter the 26-character Remote ID manually
App Crashes on Launch
Section titled “App Crashes on Launch”Solutions:
- Clear the app data: Android Settings > Apps > SendSpin Player > Storage > Clear Data
- Reinstall from the latest release
- If the problem persists, enable Debug Logging, reproduce the crash, and file a bug report with the exported logs
